• Using natural products for cleaning
• Using environmentally friendly transportation such as bicycles
• Using local handicrafts that they construct

Detailed description of the Caring for the Destination Initiative: 

The Nubian village is located at the bottom of Elephantine Island. They have a simple way of life and amaze visitors with their commitment towards saving the environment. They live on reusable products, bake their own bread and build their houses from environmentally friendly, local materials. In addition, they do not use chemicals in their plants.

The community has also made strict rules about dumping waste in the River Nile, are working hard to keep it clean, and those that do not follow the rules are condemned by law.
